Red Alpha HackArena 2025 is a 19-hour, in-person hackathon where aspiring AI Engineers team up to tackle real-world problems, using the power of artificial intelligence.
​
Hosted at Red Alpha’s headquarters, this isn’t just about code. It’s about how you think, collaborate, and solve. And at the end of the challenge, some of you will walk away with more than prizes, you’ll walk into a job.
What's Happening?

You’ll be grouped into teams and given a real-life problem statement focused on how AI can be used to drive impact.

As a team, you’ll brainstorm, design, and build an AI solution, from data models to prototypes.
-
You’ll work through the night on-site at Red Alpha HQ, with access to mentors and guidance from our trainers.
-
On Day 2, each team will present their solution to our judges in a high-impact pitch session.
It’s a test of your technical skill, creativity, and teamwork under pressure, just like the real world.

Who can join Red Alpha HackArena 2025?
This hackathon is open to individuals who:

Hold a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Is this hackathon solo or team-based?
This is a team-based hackathon.
You will be grouped into small teams on the day of the event. We will match participants based on complementary skill sets to ensure strong team dynamics.
What will we be working on?
You’ll be given a real-life AI challenge topic and asked to:

Brainstorm a solution

Code a prototype or proof-of-concept

Prepare a short presentation and pitch your idea to a panel of judges
The challenge will revolve around how AI can be used to solve real-world problems in a practical, meaningful way.

You must be present for the entire 19 hours, from challenge briefing to final presentation.
Do I need to prepare anything before the event?
We’ll provide everything you need for the challenge. However, we recommend:

Bringing your own laptop and charger

Having your environment set up
-
Familiarising yourself with basic machine learning libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow)
-
Getting a good night’s sleep beforehand, you’ll need the energy!
Will food and drinks be provided?
Yes! We’ll keep you energised with:

Dinner, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks throughout the 19 hours

Energy drinks, coffee, and chill-out spaces for downtime
What happens after the hackathon?
After the 19-hour challenge, each team will present their solution to our judging panel.
Top-performing individuals will receive:

Is there any cost to participate?
No. Participation is 100% free, but spots are limited and by application only. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to join the challenge.
