Singapore is facing a major shortage of cybersecurity professionals, with close to 4000 roles unfilled. As the country pushes ahead with digitalisation, this talent gap is becoming a growing concern for both businesses and the public sector.

At Red Alpha, we believe the solution goes beyond textbooks and theory. It requires practical training, real world experience, and guidance from industry experts. That is why we are excited to welcome Pang Tzer Yeu as our first Chief Information Security Officer in Residence.

Closing the Cyber Talent Gap

Tzer Yeu brings over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity and national defence. He has held senior positions in the Singapore Armed Forces, MINDEF, and Mediacorp, and has played key roles in building cyber capabilities across these organisations.

In his new role with Red Alpha, he will mentor our trainees, shape our training content, and ensure everything we teach is aligned with what companies actually need on the ground. He will also help strengthen our partnerships with industry and government bodies.

“The biggest challenge in cybersecurity today is not just the technology. It is finding the right people with the right skills,” said Tzer Yeu. “What Red Alpha is doing is crucial. We are preparing professionals who can hit the ground running and adapt to fast changing threats.”

A Strategic Move to Develop Ready to Hire Talent

Red Alpha runs a hands on bootcamp that prepares trainees to work in real cybersecurity roles. We select only the top 1-2 percent of applicants and train them through a full time programme that lasts 4 to 6 months. Our trainees earn respected certifications like SANS SEC504 and OffSec PEN200 and are then placed in roles with top hiring partners.

Bringing in someone like Tzer Yeu helps us sharpen our focus even further. His experience helps us stay updated on what companies need and how we can train our talent to meet those needs from day one.

Yoav Korman, Managing Director of Red Alpha, shared,

“With Tzer Yeu on board, we are doubling down on our goal of producing strong, capable cybersecurity professionals who can add value from the start.”

Building a Stronger Cyber Future for Singapore

This appointment is more than a new hire. It is part of our long term commitment to building a sustainable pipeline of cybersecurity talent. By connecting deep industry experience with a proven training model, we hope to play a key role in helping Singapore strengthen its cyber defences and digital workforce.

Whether you are someone looking to start a career in cybersecurity or a company looking for well trained, deployment ready talent, Red Alpha is here to help.
