SANS SEC504: HACKER TOOLS, TECHNIQUES, EXPLOITS, AND INCIDENT HANDLING
ASTP trainees will be enrolled into SANS SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling OnDemand training with in-person subject matter experts sessions. ASTP trainees will receive the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification if they pass the exam.

OFFSEC PEN-200: PENETRATION TESTING WITH KALI LINUX
ASTP trainees will be enrolled in OffSec PEN-200: Penetration Testing with Kali Linux training. ASTP trainees will receive the OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP) certification if they pass the exam.

Is there a guaranteed placement after the bootcamp (for both SGP & foreigners)
Red Alpha is a train-and-place program designed to maximize each trainee’s chances of employment. We provide dedicated career support through CV preparation, mock interviews, networking events, and direct engagement with hiring partners in the cybersecurity industry and offer continued support until a placement is secured.
Are there any prerequisite skills needed to apply?
A strong aptitude and passion for cybersecurity are essential but a formal background in IT or cybersecurity is not required for application to the programme.
Does Red Alpha assist with the student pass application?
Red Alpha programmes are only for Singaporeans and Singapore PRs. Foreigners who are interested in the programme have to pay the full fees. However, we do not provide any assistance with the application of student pass.
What does the bootcamp curiculum comprise of?
The bootcamp curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training in key areas of cybersecurity and related skills. It includes:

What are the training hours for the programme?
Our programme is structured as a full-time employment arrangement to provide a comprehensive learning experience, combining classroom-based instruction with practical, hands-on lab sessions.
Can I make use of online/offline resources during the assessment?

The Logical Assessment must be completed independently, without the use of any external references or resources.

The Analytical Assessment permits the use of both online and offline resources to support your responses.

Under no circumstances is communication with third parties allowed during either assessment.
How long will the process take for confirmation?
The entire selection process may take up to 1.5 months. You can help expedite the process by completing each assessment promptly upon receiving the invitation for the respective stages

Am I allowed to take the programme on a part-time basis?
Our programmes are conducted on a full-time basis. Upon induction into any Red Alpha programme, you will be considered a full-time employee, receiving a monthly training allowance along with CPF contributions.
Will applicants who currently hold jobs be able to participate in this programme?
Our programmes are conducted on a full-time basis, successful applicants will need to be 100% committed.
What is the expected timeline for industry placement?
Red Alpha is committed to supporting every trainee beyond the classroom. If you are not placed immediately after completing the programme, our team will continue to work closely with you through providing ongoing career support, interview coaching, CV reviews, and connecting you with new opportunities as they arise.
Many of our trainees secure roles within a few months post-programme, depending on individual effort, job market conditions, and role fit. We also encourage proactive engagement with our alumni network, hiring partners, and industry events to expand your opportunities.
Our goal is to help you succeed from the moment you start the programme until you land your first cybersecurity role.
Are foreigners eligible?
Currently, we are only accepting applications from Singapore citizens and SPRs for ASTP only. Foreigners who are interested in ASTP will have to pay the full training costs:
- $66,000 — 4-month bootcamp with curriculum catered to individual’s aptitude; or
- $78,000 — 4-month bootcamp with curriculum catered to individual’s aptitude and 5 additional 1-week upskilling training every 6 months upon graduation.
Who is CSIT?
The Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) is a technical agency in the Ministry of Defence that harnesses cutting-edge digital technologies to meet Singapore’s security needs.
Who can apply for CCTP? Are the selection criteria the same for fresh graduates and working adults?
The CSIT Cyber Traineeship Programme (CCTP) is only open to Singapore Citizens.
CCTP seeks fresh university graduates or mid-career professionals with a strong aptitude for learning and a passion for pursuing a career in cybersecurity. All applicants must undergo aptitude tests, interviews, and security screening before acceptance into the programme.
We encourage interested applicants to apply as early as possible. The selection process involves multiple stages, and starting sooner allows more time to complete each step without delays.
When will the CCTP Programme start?
The scheduled start date is 1 July 2026.
When do applications for CCTP end?
The application deadline is 30 April 2026.
I have some work or study experience in Cybersecurity or related disciplines, but I am unsure if I am proficient enough. Can I still apply?
Yes, we welcome fresh graduates and working professionals with an interest in cybersecurity to apply for the programme.
What is the selection process for CCTP?
Shortlisted applicants will undergo a selection process involving aptitude tests, interviews, and security screening.
Applicants will be assessed on qualities such as logical and analytical aptitude, and soft skills such as independent learning ability. The selection process may take up to 6 months on a case-by-case basis.
If I applied for CCTP before, can I apply for CCTP the next run?
Yes, you may apply, but you will need to go through the selection process again.
How long will the process take for confirmation?
If selected, you will receive a confirmation letter before 1 June 2026. The programme will commence on 1 July 2026.
Will applicants who currently hold jobs be able to participate in this programme?
The CCTP is a full-time, 6-month-long course. Participants will be expected to commit to the programme full-time.
Successful applicants will be notified at least one month before training starts to enable applicants to make necessary arrangements.
Upon successful completion of the programme, trainees must fulfil a minimum service period of 2 years with CSIT.
Am I allowed to take the programme on a part-time basis?
No, the CCTP is designed as an intensive, full-time programme to ensure participants gain the necessary skills and knowledge effectively within six months.
Are there any prerequisite skills needed to apply?
No specific prior skills or experience in cybersecurity are required. However, a strong interest in the field, logical thinking, and a passion for learning are key attributes we seek in applicants.
What kind of job roles can I expect after completing the programme?
Graduates can expect to take on Cybersecurity-related roles, depending on CSIT's needs and the trainee's demonstrated strengths during the programme.

Will I know my results and why I failed?
All applicants will be informed of their results, regardless of whether they are selected. However, we are unable to provide specific reasons for rejection as all decisions are made at our discretion.
What are the remuneration and benefits for CCTP participants?
Participants will receive a competitive monthly stipend throughout the 6-month programme. Additional benefits include access to professional development resources, mentorship from industry experts, and the opportunity to work on meaningful projects within CSIT after completing the programme.
What are the training hours for the programme?
Stage 1 of the training will be conducted in-person at the Red Alpha Singapore office on weekdays.
Stage 2 of the training consists of intensive remote training with regular in-person check-ins with CSIT instructors at CSIT premises.
