In addition to our core curriculum, ASTP trainees will be enrolled in industry courses. ASTP Trainees will receive highly-acclaimed industry certifications if they pass the exams.
SANS SEC504: HACKER TOOLS, TECHNIQUES, EXPLOITS, AND INCIDENT HANDLING
ASTP trainees will be enrolled into SANS SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling OnDemand training with in-person subject matter experts sessions. ASTP trainees will receive the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification if they pass the exam.
OFFSEC PEN-200: PENETRATION TESTING WITH KALI LINUX
ASTP trainees will be enrolled in OffSec PEN-200: Penetration Testing with Kali Linux training. ASTP trainees will receive the OffSec Certified Professional (OSCP) certification if they pass the exam.

There is no cost for you to join ASTP, as the investment we make in you is borne by Red Alpha and our partners.
All candidates will also receive a training salary during the period of training.
This is our commitment to developing you as a next-generation cybersecurity specialist for Singapore.
When you are selected as an ASTP candidate, you are required to sign an agreement in which you will be obligated to complete the intensive bootcamp and work in our partner organisations for 3 years upon graduation from the bootcamp training.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
WHO CAN APPLY FOR ASTP?
Fresh polytechnic and university (or equivalent) graduates and mid-careerists are eligible.
MUST I HAVE A CYBERSECURITY BACKGROUND TO APPLY FOR ASTP?
While a cybersecurity background is not essential to excel in ASTP, you must have an aptitude and passion for cybersecurity.
HOW WILL THE LEVEL 1 BOOTCAMP TRAINING BE CONDUCTED?
It will be conducted face-to-face on weekdays 9am to 6pm at the Red Alpha office.
IS ASTP A TRAINEESHIP OR A FULL-TIME JOB?
ASTP is a full-time employment position. Candidates will have to first complete a 6-month full-time bootcamp training during which they will receive a monthly training salary. This is followed by a 3-year full-time position in a Red Alpha partner organisation during which they will receive a monthly salary that commensurates with their job roles, skills and experience.
WHEN DOES THE NEXT ASTP COHORT START?
The next cohort is planned to start in September 2023.
ARE FOREIGNERS ELIGIBLE?
Currently, we are only accepting applications from Singaporeans and Singapore PRs for ASTP.
However, interested foreigners can join the ASTP bootcamp training at the fee of:
- S$66,000 — a 4-month bootcamp with curriculum catered to individual’s aptitude; or
- S$78,000 — a 4-month bootcamp with curriculum catered to individual’s aptitude and 5 additional 1-week upskilling training every 6 months upon graduation.

I AM GOING TO ENLIST IN NATIONAL SERVICE (NS) AFTER GRADUATING FROM POLYTECHNIC. CAN I APPLY TO JOIN ASTP?
ASTP is a full-time programme and trainees must be committed for 3 years and 6 months. We welcome interested candidates to apply for ASTP after they have completed their NS.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT WANT TO CONTINUE ASTP IN BETWEEN THE 3 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS?
There will be a penalty imposed if you wish to leave during any period of ASTP.
